I have an email sent to me today from Eve MacFarlane, Publications Manager, University of Bristol Campaigns and Alumni Relations (Senate House, Tyndall Avenue, Bristol BS8 1TH) confirming that so long as the university logo is used in full, that is, with the words alongside the emblem, there is no copyright problem with its use by Wikipedia for such purposes as the article about the university and mention of graduates thereof (which I reckon includes user pages of users who are among its graduates).
