Which version? The SNES game used 256 colors plus transparencies, so possibly thousands of colors per screen. The PC game used a 256-color video mode, but it seems to change the background color for each line. 84.182.73.106 00:33, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Expansion of the entry

I think this article should be extended to include Turrican intros. I espically remember the Turrican 2 C64 intro with a developing story and great soundtrack (by Stefan Hartwig).

[edit] Mega Turrican and Turrican 3 Release Date

Something that seems to be uncertain in information I have found is the release date of Mega Turrican and Turrican 3. The date generally accepted for Mega Turrican is 1994 and for Turrican III 1993. There seems to be a contradiction, however.

At [2] the statement is:

Turrican 3 is a conversion of Mega Turrican (Sega Mega-Drive). Turrican 3 has better sound and music, but the graphics have less colors. Also, it´s a good bit easier.

This implies that Mega Turrican came out first, which I personally remember to be true, as Mega Turrican in the UK came out before Turrican 3 on the Amiga.

If you look at [3] the date of the box (in the UK) is definitely 1994. The Amiga box doesn't have a date sadly.

The current article states that the title screen is similar to a Manowar album cover, and provides images to prove this. However this isn't the title screen I remember (from the Amstrad CPC version). Is it a fake/mockup, or was it changed for the different versions, possibly for copyright concerns? Cpc464 15:07, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

I definitly remember that screen from ye olde amiga days. It may have been from turrican 2 (been a while) but it definitly existed. Maybe amiga only? --80.41.217.203 17:28, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Probably 16-bit only. It certainly doesn't appear on either of the C64 versions of the original Turrican I own. Kelvingreen 09:25, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

there is a whole section in this article under the subheading "Game Gear Turrican" it was added at 12:03, 2 July 2006. i think's a pretty invaid part of this article and doesnt really add anything to it. the game is no longer in development. it is also a public domain clone and not really related to the actual game. there are no indvidual sections for the C64 version so why is there a section for this so call game gear version. i think this section should be removed from the article. --Mathsgeek 21:40, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

With these 2 games confirmed for the Virtual Console, I think somebody with knowledge of these games should start articles for both. TJ Spyke 02:54, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure there's enough to say about those games, specifically, that couldn't simply be included on the main Turrican page, as it is now. I'd be happy to see a page for each incarnation of and sequel to the game, but I honestly don't know if there's enough content to support it. If Super Turrican and its sequel were notable enough to have separate articles from the parent game, then they would have them already. Kelvingreen 22:27, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
Not necissarly, there were several games released on the Virtual Console that either didn't have articles or had stub articles before they were confirmed for the VC. Maybe being confirmed for the VC will encourage people to create a good article for these 2 games. TJ Spyke 02:31, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Super Turrican was released today on VC, at least in Europe. So someone should chance the current article to state this fact. --90.184.165.134 (talk) 17:27, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
