The 2007 Triple J Hottest 100 was a countdown of the most popular songs from 2007 as voted by the listeners of Australian national youth radio station, Triple J. The countdown was broadcast on Australia Day, 26 January 2008. Triple J listeners were limited to ten votes each with votes registered via the Internet.

Voting began on 1 January 2008, and closed on 20 January 2008. More than 700,000 votes were counted in the poll. The broadcast began at 10 a.m. AEDT, and for the first time was broadcast live to all time zones rather than delayed broadcast). Triple J hosted two live sites, one at The Domain, Sydney and one at Melbourne Docklands.[1]

The 2007 poll was the closest in Hottest 100 history with only 13 votes separating the number 1 and 2 songs.[2] The 2007 Hottest 100 holds the record for the most number of Australian artists' works placed, with 53. The previous record was 51 in 2002.

A double CD featuring xx of the songs was released. The Hottest 100 compilations are some of the highest selling CDs in Australia[3].

The 2006 Triple J Hottest 100 was a countdown of the most popular songs from 2006 as voted by the listeners of Australian national youth radio station, Triple J. The countdown was broadcast on Australia Day, 26 January 2007. Triple J listeners were limited to ten votes each with votes registered via the Internet.

Voting began on January 1, 2007, and closed on January 21, 2007. 671,024 votes were counted in this year's poll.[4]

The broadcast began at 10 a.m., and at midday, crossed to Hyde Park in Sydney for a live broadcast of the countdown, beginning at #75. The top 10 was announced from 6 p.m. by Myf Warhurst and Jay and the Doctor. The broadcast was also the first time the Hottest 100 had a live video webcast through the Triple J Website, showing film clips of each video and live footage from Hyde Park.

The 2005 Triple J Hottest 100 was a countdown of the most popular songs from 2005 as voted by the listeners of Australian national youth radio station, Triple J. The countdown was broadcast on Australia Day, 26 January 2006. Triple J listeners were limited to twenty votes each - ten via SMS (charged at 55 cents each) and ten via the Internet (no charge).

The broadcast began at 10am AEDT and finished a little before 7pm when the top song was announced. Broadcast live from the Sydney Big Day Out from 12pm AEDT, it regularly crossed to winning artists and listeners around Australia, with many listening to the broadcast as part of their Australia Day celebrations.

Voters were limited to 20 votes each - 10 via SMS (charged at 30c each) and 10 via the Internet (no charge).
