No longer 'the Hub' - it is now 'the tree sculpture capital of Nova Scotia', to most residents' bane.

The sculpture in the picture no longer exists; there were too many complaints about its "suggestive" nature, ergo it was modified in 2004. (7 July 2006)

Demographics: surely there are other demographics other than skin colour which are available on Truro. Gabe 15:33, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

It's teeming with old people. They only come seem to come out during the week/daytime hours to avoid persecution from Truro punk kids. The rest of the time they hide in the sewer. or somewhere.

Is it still hub of Nova Scotia? The signs now say something along the lines of Wood Sculpture center of Nova Scotia... or something like that... I dunno, I don't go there often

That's true, the sign does now say something along the lines of that. And they do have a lot of wood sculptures Phred Levi 04:51, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Gay Pride Flag Flapping

Gay Pride Flag Flapping --- Is this the page where I should raise the issue of the "current affairs" entry on the Truro, Nova Scotia page? Previously placed under "Town History" (???), an entry is made regarding the recent vote by town council to not fly the rainbow flag over town hall. When looking at other municipal pages on wikipedia, I see no precedent for such content. Nor does any other municipality/city/town have a running "current affairs" section. It would be quite reasonable to have this article placed on a page dealing with gay rights issues, etc, but not on a municipality's page. I don't know the protocol for dealing with this issue, only that I have been properly scolded for having deleted the politicizing content. It should be removed. I fear that if it is not moved, the current affairs may become a running blog of every current issue in Truro.Obi123 13:50, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

I think you have a point, and so does someone else, as the sub-section you mentioned has already been removed. It's certainly both a verifiable and notable occurrence, but I agree that it isn't particularly encyclopaedic, and five years from now I doubt it will be a noteworthy part of Truro's history. --PeruvianLlama(spit) 08:09, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:TruroCoatofArms.jpg

Image:TruroCoatofArms.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
