[edit] History
The village of Tosno was first mentioned in Russian chronicles in 1500. Its development in 18-19 centuries was mainly due to its geographic location on the road between the two Russian capitals. It was mostly destroyed during the World War II and subsequently rebuilt. Town status granted in 1963.
