[edit] Purpose of the page

Hi. Is this page about the author or his Cromwell book? Hughsheehy 15:30, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

I've just made a major edit to the article, bringing it more in line with various guidelines and policies. The link provided to Reilly's quote has been corrected. As link provided for the review in the London Sunday Times does not support the associated quote, it has been replaced by a citation tag. All other Amazon links have been removed per the policy concerning WP:EL. One dead link has been removed.
The unsourced quotation from Jason McElligott has been removed. While I managed to find this quotation on an Amazon listing, I argue that such postings are neither reliable nor varifiable. I have added a source for the previously unreferenced quote from John Moriill. However, as the entire discussion of the book amounts to nothing more than a sentence found in a footnote, I believe it too trivial for inclusion. I have left Morrill's quotation for now, and welcome discussion on this point.
This all leads me to repeat the question posed by Hughsheehy: "Is this page about the author or his Cromwell book?" As it stands, the focus of the article is Cromwell - An Honourable Enemy and provides little information on the author. Unless addressed, I put it that the article should be rewritten (it is currently little more than a quotefarm) and retitled Cromwell - An Honourable Enemy. Whether or not the book meets the guidelines put forward in WP:BK is another matter for discussion. Victoriagirl 19:19, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
If, as is currently the case, the page remains about the book more than the author, the page should be deleted or stipped back hugely. The book doesn't meet WP:BK...not by a long way. Hughsheehy 15:59, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
An observation: as of my last edit, the main body of article consisted of 420 words (Bibliography and References not included), 374 of which dealt with Cromwell - An Honourable Enemy. Tom Reilly, the subject of the article is dealt with in two sentences. Victoriagirl 20:29, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
I have posted on the talk page of the editor who created this article, asking their view. If there isn't more to say about Tom Reilly (even if he's a wonderful man) than a review of one book then this page should perhaps be cropped/deleted.Hughsheehy 08:31, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
I've removed the quote farm. I don't think this is a candidate for deletion as he is the author of a critically-reviewed book. Cricketgirl 14:08, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Actually, no, it doesn't meet WP:BIO, by a long way (I got my criteria mixed up before). I'm nominating this for AFD. Cricketgirl 14:11, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
