Discussion on the Ottoman timeline page:

I proposed the merger because the timeline of the Ottoman Empire is very short, and there is a pretty unambiguous continuity between the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey. Dallyripple 20:49, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Timeline has some errors

Turkey passed to mulit-party period with 1946 election which ended with the victory of CHP. In 1950 elections, DP gained a huge victory which they would keep in 1954 and 1957 elections. Therefore, the classification of the timeline is not correct. Deliogul (talk) 20:41, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
