Getting it right
I cannot work out if you are a member of Wikipedia staff or just a well-meaning amateur. But you recently made correction to the entry for Fergus Martin. When you did, you spelt his name incorrectly. You also edited a page that has had several people edit it already. I just wonder why you wanted to improve on what is already perfectly alright. Especially when they add an error. - Brenmar —Preceding unsigned comment added by Brenmar (talk • contribs) 17:48, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
- I am not certain where your comments come from. I am just another editor. I have made some consistency and style changes to the article. My only error which it appears you corrected was a typographical error of a "G" instead of "F". You also appear to have a specific belief that your edits are "perfect", however please review WP:OWN and while you're at it, please review WP:SIG - also check to make sure you don't have a WP:COI in this article. Thanks. Tiggerjay (talk) 05:11, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Talk page
Hi since you cant reply to my question on my talk page that you so rudely commented on before. "I was discussing Sikhism and expressing my views on it. Isn't that what talk pages are for?" Wowisntfair (talk) 07:54, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- I believe the other users on your talk page adequately address the issue for me. Tiggerjay (talk) 23:52, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
WP:HAU
Hello yet again. I regretfully inform you that the bot we were using to update the user status at Wikipedia:Highly Active Users, SoxBot V, was blocked for its constant updating. With this bot out of operation, a patch is in the works. Until that patch is reviewed and accepted by the developers, some options have been presented to use as workarounds: 1) Qui monobook (not available in Internet Explorer); 2) User:Hersfold/StatusTemplate; 3) Manually updating User:StatusBot/Status/USERNAME; or 4) Not worry about it and wait for the patch to go through, which hopefully won't take long. If you have another method, you can use that, too. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Useight (talk) 17:41, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Re: Reform,
Unfortunately it looks like Special:Contributions/71.160.104.140 isn't reformed after all, all of the edits they have made since being reported are vandalism, or legitimate spelling corrections of their own earlier vandalism edits. This user seems to specialize in inserting exceptionally believable, hard to verify lies, for example, changing soft-opening dates on Disney attractions, ala Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. These can be very difficult statistics to come by unless you work for the company/manufacturer/press and thus have access to double-check the dates.) The user even goes so far as to support their false claims with lies establishing agreement on related pages. Tragically this seems to be malice at the highest level. - It looks like you're probably correct. And his AIV was dropped here [1] because of incorrect warnings. :) So let's try the warning again in proper order to ensure a proper block. Also remember, to be "proper" the consecutive warning must come after new edits (ie you just can go warning 1-2-3-4 all while they are inactive.) Tiggerjay (talk) 17:14, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Re: Wikibreak
Thanks for your comments, Tiggerjay. I did know that, but it really is no big deal. True wikibreaking is done by the self-motivation... clearly something I have to work on! Besides, I don't want to be a burden to any admin. They have much more important things to do than worry about my (in)activity. -- THE DARK LORD TROMBONATOR 04:23, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
