Tiger Lily was an all-female New Wave Rock band founded by Laura Molina in 1981 and named after a burlesque dancer of the same name portrayed by Lucille Ball in the film Dance, Girl, Dance.[1] The group consisted of four members with a keyboard player joining them in 1983.[2] The band played steadily throughout Los Angeles and Orange County, eventually being signed on by Rhino Records for an all-girl band compilation entitled The Girls Can't Help It. The group disbanded following their final live-performance in July of 1984. Molina would later record with Bob Casale of Devo,[3] and her former bandmates went on form another all-female band, Radio Active, with former Runaways lead singer Cherie Currie[4], with limited success.
