Talk:Tiger Leaping Gorge
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The hike along the gorge is fine during the winter (which is the dry season), but not advisable during the rainy season.
[edit] Hiking
That's a very cautious piece of advice. I was told that hiking would only be dangerous if it has rained heavily for several days straight. When I did the high-trail hike, it was raining, and the path was difficult, but not especially dangerous. --67.68.52.58 05:39, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
Can you comment on any work on the dam ?
[edit] "Environmental destruction" section
I edited this to make it a little less POV and to make clear that there are sources for it, but it is still pretty POV. This is important stuff, but anyone care to make it a bit more balanced? -- Spireguy 03:36, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- I've added some more info and more sources. I don't see what's unjustifiably POV about the section. Who's going to defend such a piece of destructive engineering which only serves to line the pockets of local party officials, anyway? --Sumple (Talk) 05:35, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Recent severe edit
I severely edited the material introduced a few days ago, because most of it was unencyclopedic. Some of it was promotional (self-promotion, I gather), and a lot of the rest was specific tourist information which would be more appropriate at Wikitravel. I also deleted the material introduced on this talk page, since it was a copyright violation; however I did check that the original article did exist, and used it as a reference for a small addition to the main article. -- Spireguy 17:01, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
