CJP/ My Grandmother Annie Edit Baker stated her Grandfather was Thomas Baker the artist. Annie appears on the 1891 Census Piece RG12/2380 for Birmingham. Her father is listed as Thomas Baker Photographer. Note the census does not show this as Baker-Smith. Whether the name indicates legitimacy or pride I do not know. Thomas (Jr) had 6 daughters and one son who died in the war of 1914 childless.
Annie married William Priest a photographer's assistant per the 1891 census RG12/2401. He became an engineer for Birmingham city.
Perhaps a co-incidence but William Priest had daughters from a previous marriage and one of them married a Smith.
I placed the first Tomas Baker(Artist) page on Wikipedia a few years ago before the disambiguation removed the history. That note had links to art gallery sites showing his work. I also noted the date of death varies between sources as 1869 or 1964, /CJP 69.157.2.207 02:50, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Found the 1861 census on the baker-smith household. Looks like Thomas wasn't home that night.
