Regarding false accusations on my talk page

Please refrain from vandalizing my talk page with borderline slanderous remarks as you did here. While some of your concerns are legitimate, the vast majority are untrue and unkind. Please make stronger attempts at verifying sources. Thank you. Morthanley (talk) 00:16, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

The only item I added was the joke1 template. My edit also shifted previous warnings into the same section, per the recommended formatting for such warnings; but I only added joke1. It was added because of this edit, which added a number of absurd examples and declared my removal of them as vandalism. As you may be aware, these absurd examples have been an ongoing problem with this article for awhile now. More recently, anons have been using edit summaries which sound like they are on the "good" side of removing such examples; whereas they are actually adding them back in. From your edit alone, I had assumed you were an anon which registered an account as the next step to tricking us. After posting the joke1 warning, I looked through your contributions and found that you are relatively established, but I still fell short as to the reason for your revert. I am not sure what exactly the cause of this was, but if it was mere confusion: I apologise for any misunderstanding, but ask that you please take more care in what you revert as vandalism. Cheers! --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 01:12, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your msg on my talk page. I prefer to keep discussions in one place, so I have replied there. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 16:29, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Frank Palumbo

I've see you on a number of related pages and thought you might be able to help. Any idea where I might find some better sources for Frank Palumbo and Palumbos? Short of an archive search of the Bulletin and Inqy, I'm fresh out of material. - Mdsummermsw (talk) 21:25, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunately I do not know much about that subject. Cheers! --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 22:22, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Sasha was born in Gary?

Yo tengo curiosidad por saber de donde usted saco ese dato. También la wikipedia en portuges dice que ella nació en Brasil y que a los cinco años fue para Estados Unidos.Por qué hay tantas opiniones diferentes?Vicond (talk) 15:48, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

No sé lo que usted se refiere. --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 22:21, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

OK. I asking you about Sasha Grey. You have put in her article that she born in Gary,Indiana.Do you have some source that confirms this? And other wikipedia (portuges) says that she is Brasilian. Why exist so many different opinion about it?

Vicond (talk) 04:46, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Ahh, I was just hitting the random article button and ended up there, where there appeared to be an issue between editors. I don't know anything about her. --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 13:09, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

OK.Thank you.Vicond (talk) 13:54, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Your work on List of tallest lighthouses in the United States

Looking at your current project, I'm wondering whether the thing to do is to turn the main US light article into a sortable table. Mangoe (talk) 18:36, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

I was actually thinking that very same thing, but I'm not too familiar with creating tables. I'll throw a mention of this onto the article's discussion page. Cheers! --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 19:03, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

dyk nom

o .... type "table" into help.... sortable ones are quite easy Victuallers (talk) 22:00, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
Looks good! And thanks for the tip on tables... I know it's something I could learn, but it's still a bit low on my priority list at the moment. Perhaps someday... Cheers! --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 22:21, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

Enea Bossi, Sr.

Updated DYK query On 24 February 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Enea Bossi, Sr., which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Conte Biancamano

Thanks for restoring the info in the template, after making that edit last night I discoverd the source and tried to restore it myself, but for some weird reason the software kept inserting a carriage return after every comma or semicolon, which is something I've never encountered before.

BTW, it might interest you to know that that is a very old template, you really should be using the new ship template which you can find at Template:Infobox Ship Begin/doc. Gatoclass (talk) 05:17, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Road rage

Thanks Thisisossi, but you have the wrong man here. I was reverting vandalism by TomGreen. 81.152.148.200 (talk) 20:04, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Whoops I knew that... must of clicked on the wrong name! I'll keep better watch on it and will self-revert my edit to you page (unless you already beat me to it) --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 20:05, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
I blocked TomGreen (talk · contribs) for edit warring for 24 hours. I also protected the article for a few days. Thanks for your report; however, you embellished by noting that he was blanking warnings. There is actually no policy against this. The reasons why not are set out, handily if I do say so myself, at WP:CAIN. Cheers. ➨ REDVEЯS dreamt about you last night 21:20, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks! WP:CAIN explains it perfectly (#5 cracks me up), but I am nonetheless a tad slighted when a user blanks the warnings but continues to do the same act which earned the warnings in the first place. The article protection ought to help things out for awhile -- this sort of thing happens periodically but fortunately doesn't seem to be a continuous issue, so the protection should help reset some calm. Cheers! --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 21:25, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Photo request

I saw your name at Wikipedia:Wikipedians/Photographers. Please photograph Tyler Spite House at 112 W Church St, Frederick, MD 21701 for spite house. Thanks. GregManninLB (talk) 23:20, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

I should be going through that area on Friday -- I'll see if I can get some photos then. Cheers! --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 21:14, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
FYI, I got a number of photos; I just haven't had a chance to upload them yet. I'll leave a message as soon as they're up, which I expect should be sometime before this weekend. --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 03:55, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Uploading the images right now. Keep an eye on Category:Frederick, Maryland. Cheers! --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 04:24, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

'removing artists -- if they're notable, show that it meets WP:MUSIC's notability criteria'

So, if some genre is underground, it should be ignored? -- 86.57.254.215 (talk) 17:55, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, my bad -- 86.57.254.215 (talk) 18:27, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Copyright Notices

You are a bit of a nuisance. I am trying to share images that I have created with the public under the creative commons license and you have systematically gone through each one adding a potential copyright infringement notice.

Not only does such inconsiderate and baseless actions cause me much greater work in sharing these images, it also prevents the public from enjoying them as I shall be reluctant in future to post more if it means having to undertake this extra work.

You have no reason whatsoever to presume that there is any copyright infringement on those images. Not only do I own the original manuscripts, created the images and prepared them for the public, I also own the original site from which they are taken (www.adamshamilton.com). As a lawyer, I am fully aware of the distinct lack of copyright infringement issues relating to that material and I suggest you consider reading into why there is certainly no copyright infringement in such circumstances. The work I am putting inot sharing these images is being made very difficult by your interference. I have had to post further explanations and email Wikipedia as a result of your actions.

Talk:Altoona, Pennsylvania

I have temporarily protected this page from IP users. Hopefully the vandals will get bored and go away after the realize they can't cause trouble for you anymore. Trusilver 20:59, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the protection and also thanks for the {{NoAutosign}} tip -- I wasn't aware of that. I'm curious: usually when a regular page gets protected, users can still edit the Discussion page. How does a protection on a Discussion page work? --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 21:05, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for protected Altoona's talk page the vandalism was really getting to be annoying. Dincher (talk) 21:06, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
No problem at all. Also, let me know if this extends over to the article as well, I will add the protection there. In the case of page protection, the article page and the talk page are separate entities. Each one can be given its own protection without affecting the others. In the case of this talk page, the protection functions the same as it would for an article that has been given protection form editing by new and IP users. Trusilver 21:10, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

I have just reverted the same foolishness on the article twice in the last hour. I've also had to make similar changes on the article in the recent past. Dincher (talk) 21:28, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for taking care of the problem. We'll see if the vandal moves elsewhere. Dincher (talk) 22:35, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
No problem. The protection is in place for thirty days. Hopefully by the time that period has ended, they will have gotten bored. If they don't, let me know and I will extend it. Trusilver 22:44, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Might you be able to protect Downtown Altoona, Pennsylvania, too? Looks like protecting the other pages has just pushed them here. I'll let you know of Penn State Altoona needs it, too... I know they've dabbled on that one a couple times, but it's been quiet for the time being. Thanks!! --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 03:18, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
Might as well grab its talk page, too... the vandal has already moved over to editing that one. :/ Thanks again! --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 01:14, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

I suggest you be more selective about causing unecessary work for those attempting to enrich the Wiki experience of others in the future.

Thelad101 (talk) 05:50, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions. However, we cannot accept evidence of "it is my website" as proof that you are indeed the copyright holder. It is recommended that you provide an indication somewhere on the website (perhaps by creating a new page which states that you are uploading the images to Wikipedia under Thelad101, and linking to it in the information section) or by contacting permissions@commonswikimedia.org to establish proof that you are holder of the applicable copyright(s). --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 12:02, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
It appears you may have already gone through this process, as this image has been verified as having been approved by OTRS. I have contacted User:Mike.lifeguard to see if this same OTRS applies to all of your images or if each one has been individually verified. Please understand that I do not mean to say that you are not who you say you are, I'm just saying we need the proof of such; and it does appear that you have already been making those efforts. --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib)
