[edit] Merge with other X-Party Developers into Video Game Developer

The articles on First-party developer and Second-party developer are very thin on information. Maybe they should be merged with this article? --85.157.208.100 17:12, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Isn't Sega partners with Nintendo (which I think makes it second party to Nintendo)? 74.106.84.19 11:00, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

@ "85.157.208.100" -- I think that's a good idea. there should be an article titled "Types of video games developers" and there be a seperate section for first, second, and third party developers.

@ "74.106.84.19" -- No, Sega is a third party devekoper.

I propose that these articles be merged into Video game developers, which already has a subsection called types. -- trlkly 13:26, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Third-party developers are common throughout the software industry, thus this article should not be limited to video game developers. There is too much of an emphasis in this article on video game developers. Instead the article should be improved by making broader references to software development in general, and not simply to video games. JohnT (talk) 18:44, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Merge - I agree . the video game industry seems to have a specific meaning for first, second, and third that is more nuanced than the general software industry... the content of these should be merged into video game developer and the first and third names linked to headings. Then, third-party developer should be upgraded to the general computer industry concept, with a disamb to the video game developer. Finally, we need to fix some of the disamb on party (disambiguation) and move it to third party. Depending on my schedule, I may just get bold and do it. --Marcinjeske (talk) 18:19, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Threewave

How come Threewave gets it's own homepage listed whereas none of the others do? I'm considering editting it out in the interest of fairness, but not sure. 12.205.224.183 (talk) 00:00, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

what about hardware developers in computer field is also generaly used. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Imherewhereru (talk • contribs) 19:20, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
