[edit] First African American settlers

Hello. Please refrain from copying and pasting things into Wikipedia, as you did with this page. Wikipedia cannot accept pages that violate the site's copyright policies. Chubbles (talk) 07:26, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] WP:NOR

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. This is especially important when dealing with biographies of living people, but applies to all Wikipedia articles. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are already familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add your reference to the article. Thank you. Yahel Guhan 04:42, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] February 2008

Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Barack Obama, as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. Jons63 (talk) 01:24, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] March 2008

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on African American. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution.

Your link is broken, so we can't see your source for "Black Americans are still the largest racial minority." Until/unless you can come up with a source that could somehow disprove the USA Today source provided, please keep this issue on the article's talk page.

Thanks for contributing.

[edit] AfD nomination of Obama family

I have nominated Obama family, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Obama family. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Loonymonkey (talk) 17:00, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] African immigrants AfD

I noticed you didn't format Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/African immigration to the United States properly or add it to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Log/2008 May 30. I've addressed this. In the future, you might want to see Wikipedia:Guide to deletion. Cheers. ~~ N (t/c) 03:42, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Obama family

You do not own this or any page on Wikipedia. Please do not remove AfD notices, reinstate unsourced material without discussion, or - especially - use uncivil edit summaries. If you continue, you may be blocked. ~~ N (t/c) 15:14, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Obama's mother's race

Hello, I noticed that you have taken away the reference to Obama's mother being white. This is very relevant and a defining characteristic of Obama and it very much should be in the entry.JackWilliams (talk) 02:18, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Most Kenyans are black, but you make a good point that perhaps we should include that his father was a "black Kenyan." But I think that race is relevant.JackWilliams (talk) 02:29, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
