[edit] Re: Hortobágyi palacsinta

Never mind! It was my pleasure to help you. :) I wish you much success (and lot of fun!) in learning Hungarian, wich is a very very very difficult language, some may say :o) – but not for you! If I could help in anything, let me know. I'm admin in huwiki, and spend the most of my wikitime there. Please feel free to visit my hutalkpage at hu:User vita:V79benno, and switch to Hungarian! [edit] Settlements

There was a general discussion a while back on the naming conventions page; I can't find it now. There was never a Canadian-specific discussion, though. I also agree that it's probably a good choice, but I haven't generally started moving things around with the odd exception or two. Bearcat 04:22, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Native Education Centre logo.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Native Education Centre logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 00:12, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] History of Poland template

Recently I stumbled upon the History of Poland template, which looks really cool and based on that we could reorganize the History of Hungary template with dates. The ancient/modern/communist headers would be replaced with a simple chronology on the template, with other topics at the bottom. Please check out the history of poland and history of poland template and tell me what you think. Hobartimus 08:25, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Edward Curtis Photo

[Image:Kwakwaka'wakwgirl.jpg] It is an Edward Curtis photo. The beautiful Kwakwaka'wakw woman is Elizabeth Hunt. Bit late in my response, but once I found out I remembered you were asking me. OldManRivers 19:42, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hungarian census 1910

You have asked User:Hobartimus question about this: "According to the census in 1910, 54% of the population of the Kingdom (without Croatia)"... Your question has been "What does that mean, without Croatia?" This is answer: Croatia or it will be better to say kingdom Croatia-Slavonia has not been part of Hungary but independent kingdom in union with Hungary. If I do not make mistake in year 1868 Croatia and Hungary have made agreement very similar to Austro-Hungarian Compromise of 1867. I hope that this facts will help you (it is late but...)Rjecina 19:26, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:AFN-Logo.GIF

Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:AFN-Logo.GIF. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:44, 7 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. [edit] Name Issues

Hello Themightyquill. It's been a while since we've talked. I'm hoping to start coming back around wikipedia, but busy with work and life and such. There is a bit of a discussion going on in this page. Obviously the issue isn't just about Skwxwu7mesh, but indigenous nations in BC (and related reigions). It's an interesting discussion and would need some people somewhat familiar with the issue. I also lack the complete objectiveness that wikipedia demands of one, but I do my best. Thanks! [edit] Last edit to Residential Schools

The thinking of those who instituted the schools, i.e., governments and officials, and the public at large. I don't agree. There is a historical perspective missing and what I added was addressing that. This not about a point of view. If you want to edit the addition, that is fine. But removing it will not do. I restored and made the addition more specific in this regard. I write with the upmost respect, Fremte 22:27, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

You did a good job of fixing your concern while attending to mine. Thanks! Fremte 18:55, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Blackfoot gathering, Alberta..JPG

Hi! Thanks for your complimentary remarks. I am glad you enjoyed the photo. It was taken at a gathering on a Blackfoot reservation in southern Alberta, Canada that I was privileged to be invited to in 1973. Because the weather was cold it was held in a community hall. It was a very happy occasion and there was lots of dancing, singing and drumming. My wife and I were the only outsiders present. Unfortunately, I can't remember many more details - even the name of the reservation as it was so long ago. I do have more photos - especially of the children but I was asked not to take photos of the actual dances - which, of course, I did not do. Cheers and best wishes, John Hill 22:25, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Clean-up efforts: Thanks!! (Anishinaabe etc.)

WikiThanks

I have noticed your clean up efforts on the Anishinaabe and Algonquin articles. Much thanks. More is needed; every little bit helps. Again, thanks! CJLippert 23:17, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

I just hope I got it right. Being from the west coast, I was having a really hard time understanding what's going in the Anishinaabe-related articles. It's terribly confusing, what with the Algonquin/Algonquian overlap, and the identity/language-family semi-overlap of Anishinaabe. I spent a bunch of time reading the articles until I got a basic understanding, then tried to clarify things. If you feel like looking through my edits and making sure I didn't totally misunderstand anything along the way, I'd be totally grateful. - TheMightyQuill 23:38, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Other than one instance of Algonquian that ought to have said Algonquin/Algonkin, the all the rest were fine... and all the edits were improvements, as the readabilty is better! We just need more clean-up with the kind of care you've put in. CJLippert 01:32, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Repost of ALF House

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on ALF House, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because ALF House was previously deleted as a result of an articles for deletion (or another XfD)

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting ALF House, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. [edit] Gnocchi

Regarding this edit, I notice that the specified image doesn't exist, nor has it got an associated deletion log. If you misspelt the name, please correct it; if you forgot to upload it, please do; otherwise, please remove it. Thanks in advance, Shinobu (talk) 16:58, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Time - Stakhanov.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Time - Stakhanov.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 19:39, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] List of recipes

Did you intend for us to import all the recipes listed on that page, or just the page itself? If the former, it will take some time to complete; it would be slightly faster if the individual recipes were tagged since not all the pages linked are non-encyclopedic recipes - some are legit articles. Let me know what you meant please and I'll get started one way or the other. – Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 15:22, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] First Nations of Canada redirect

Hi -- it seems you made First Nations of Canada redirect to List of First Nations peoples -- I wonder why? The previous redirect to First Nations seems more appropriate (judging from the current state of those articles -- perhaps they were different back then). Joriki (talk) 05:36, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Prague Spring

Thanks! I've found a fair amount of sources and I put the article up for peer review. I think the ultimate plan would be to make it a GA, then make Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia (1968) a GA, merge them back together, fix them up and bring it to FA. By the way, is it really necessary for the article to be called Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia (1968), there was only one invasion, unless you count the 1945 liberation.--The Dominator (talk) 22:28, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

You have done some excellent work on the article before me and I think you'd like to know that I'm nominating it for good article, so standby and let's see how that goes, be ready to improve any criticisms that come up.--The Dominator (talk) 16:29, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Photos

Hi Themightyquill. As you seem to be the one that upload the Nisga'a Memorial Lava Beds Provincial Park photo, is it possible you could upload photos of the other Canadian volcanoes on Flickr? Most of the Canadian volcanoes need photos, such as Silverthrone Mountain, Mount Edziza, Eve Cone, Mount Cayley, Rainbow Range, Nazko Cone, Mount Price, Mount Fee, Meager Group, Mount Minto, Sidas Cone, Nahta Cone, Nisga'a Memorial Lava Beds Provincial Park and the Wells Gray volcanoes, such as Pyramid Mountain. I looked on Flickr myself and photos exist for these volcanoes, such as lava flows. Also, if you search Nisga'a Menorial Lava Beds Provincial Park (with the "s" on Bed) on Flickr, you will find more. I'm asking you about this because I don't know anything about uploading photos (I moved this discussion from Commons because you seem to be more active here). Black Tusk 06:23, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

Well, I did everything you told me to do and there's barely anything. The only ones I found so far are Mount Garibaldi and Pyramid Mountain. Black Tusk 16:57, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Too bad the Silverthrone Mountain photo dosen't have a commons license because the volcano is in such a remote location there's barely any known about it. Not lots of photos of it ether. Black Tusk 03:23, 29 Januray 2008 (UTC)

[edit] You Like?

You know doubt seen all my crazy edits in the past couple days. I thought I'd just let you know about the changes since I did some major updates. Also see the Talk page for some discussion I started. Thank you so much for all your copyediting work. I don't expect you to do this all at at once, but do you think you could have a look over and see what can be spruced up? Thank you!!! [edit] Re Wikiproject

I would still like to see you as a part of the project, we could use an editor like you.--The Dominator (talk) 17:39, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] British Columbia Treaty Process

I've made it and updated it! Some good ol' Mightyquill copy editing would be awesome. I'm really grateful for all the help you've been doing with the article I've either started, cleaned up, or added content to. It's really cool so thank you. But have a look around this article and see if there is anything. Any suggestions would be well appreciated. Not sure if you know much about the BCTP though. Eventually I'm going to go through all the media-related articles out there and add significantly to the history section. Have a look and see what you think. OldManRivers (talk) 17:37, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Edward Curtis Photo

[2] is the image I'm talking about. I got a message saying I need to say who's photo it is. Is there a special thing I can post on there and Edward Curtis photographs are okay since it was over 50 years ago in the US, right? Thanks for any help. OldManRivers (talk) 05:49, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] More Edward Curtis

I found about 3 or 4 images that are Edward Curtis photographs. They are all Kwakwaka'wakw related photo's. Problem is, I found them on a Facebook group for Kwakwaka'wakw people. I'm not sure where else they would be. Is there a book published with his photographs? Anyways, I could use some help on sorting them all out. Was going to put them straight up on commons, but I still need help navigating everything. Thanks for any help Mightyquill. OldManRivers (talk) 09:08, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Vandalism

Very odd indeed! I was actually kinda pissed off when I first received his "warning" (accusing me of editing "key dates", an edit which I have never made), but had a laugh when I realised I wasen't the only "victim". Anyway, could he be a potential sockpuppet? I personally have not been involved in any related disputes, and I cannot pinpoint any possibilities.--Huaiwei (talk) 20:28, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the initiative!--Huaiwei (talk) 21:20, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button Image:Signature_icon.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 21:23, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] The Two-Headed Serpent and The Serpent Slayer
