A tag has been placed on Rare Turtles, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. [edit] Various turtle articles

I see you have been posting various articles about turtles on Wikipedia. As you're a new user, I thought I'd give you some advice as to what has been happening to these pages.

Firstly, it isn't generally accepted to write a 'placeholder' article with no or very little actual encyclopedic content, as such an article is virtually useless to the reader. If you want to work on an article, it's best to create a user subpage work on the article there, and then move the page into the main article space. I see someone has already done this with your turtle page at User:The Bluelife Turtle/Rare Turtles.

Secondly, the content that you added may not be suitable for Wikipedia. Some of it may be useful in our main article at turtle, but some of it merely contains your personal views on the subject. These violate Wikipedia:Neutral point of view and Wikipedia:No original research, two pages which you should familiarise yourself with (along with Wikipedia:Verifiability).

Lastly, the fact that you have backed up the content of a page does not mean that the content can survive on Wikipedia forever. There are ways in which some users can prevent the content being reintroduced.

Thank you for reading this. Hut 8.5 17:44, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
