The Tolmachevy Twins

Anastasiya and Maria Tolmachevy (Анастасия и Мария Толмачевы, born January 14, 1997) are twins and child singers from the Russian city of Kursk. At the age of nine, they won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2006 in Bucharest, Romania, with their song Vesenniy jazz (Literal: Spring Jazz, Cyrillic: Весенний Джаз).[1]

Their song was selected from amongst the 200 singers and bands around Russia that participated in the national selection competition. [2] In the national final held on June 4, 2006 they were finally chosen from 20 acts to represent their country in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which they won clearly.[1] They received 154 points, beating Belarus that got 129 points.[3]

The twins released an album called Polovinki in 2007, and have appeared in a made-for-TV movie in Russia.
