The Things are a garage rock band based in Dublin, Ireland
[edit] History
Started by friends Robbie Brady, Vinny Duggan, Jimmy Cullen and Neil Moore in 2002. The four members came together due to their mutual love of rock'n'roll. Blending 60's garage rock, psych rock, rockabilly, punk and even prog they created a unique sound that has had there live shows described as raw and in your face. After a handful of shows the band recruited organist Ruairi Paxton. Over the next few years along with learning how to play their instruments the band began to write and record their own songs. The first of these recording appearing on 2005's "Psycho Sound EP" from Big Neck Records.
Since their formation The Things have released a handful of EP's and remained a strong force on the Irish underground rock scene as well as cementing a cult like following through the Europe and the US.
Over the years the band has played extensively throughout Ireland, the UK and Europe. Including some short tours of the US, with appearances and the CMJ, and South by South West music marathons.
2008 saw the departure of drummer Jimmy Cullen, who has since been replaced by fellow Dubliner Andy Sutton.
