The Paisano is an independent student-run newspaper of the University of Texas at San Antonio. It recently celebrated it's 26 year anniversary and is read by 7,000 students weekly. "Paisano" is Spanish and Italian word for "countryman".
The newspaper is usually published once a week during the regular school year and is written completely by unpaid volunteers, with advertisements helping to support the costs associated with printing and distributing. The office for the newspaper is located off-campus, across the street from the university.
