The Naked and the Dead were a short-lived but influential gothic rock/deathrock band from New York, founded in 1985. Following a revival of interest and appearances on several compilation CDs, the band self-released a collection of their 1985 studio and live recordings in 2001 (later reissued via Lulu.com), and reformed during early 2002, culminating in a reunion show. The band ended again in early 2003, though they reunited for one last concert at NYC's Drop Dead Festival in October 2005. There is no wide-scale distribution of the band's work. Bollman and Fasolino currently are members of Brooklyn dream-pop band Bell Hollow, while latter-day vocalist Julia Ghoulia and 2005 drummer D.W. Friend perform with The Brides.
