[edit] History
Formed in March 2004, the band won the Snickers Unsigned Contest run by Kerrang magazine. Part of the overall prize was an early morning appearance at the Download Festival in Donnington during 2005.
Their first, and only, single "This is not a bruise", was recorded and produced by Pedro Ferreira (Tokyo Dragons, The Darkness).
Despite the considerable efforts of the label, EMAP, their in house publication Kerrang (both of which were managing agents of the contest) and several airings of the low budget video on Kerrang! TV the single only managed to reach number 13 on the BBC Rock Chart.
The band broke up acrimoniously in October 2005 after a short regional tour with Reuben and Fighting with Wire.

Since the breakup of The Mascara Story Ferris has formed two further bands, Rescue The Astronauts and Telephone Bruises, both of which have subsequently broken up with Ferris citing "irreconcilable differences" between himself and other members.

Since the break-up of The Mascara Story bassist Keddy has undertaken further education.
[edit] Jay Dickson
Dickson's current projects include the progressive rock / industrial metal band Shiro. He is endorsed by Mapex[1]. A former pupil of tutor / session drummer Dave Whitehouse he also gives regular drum lessons to young drummers and appeared along with Pete Riley at Mapex drum's first ever drum clinic in Northern Ireland.
