The Graveyard Book is an upcoming novel by Neil Gaiman, mentioned in the introduction to Fragile Things. The title is an homage to The Jungle Book.[1] In the book, a boy whose parents are killed is adopted by the occupants of a graveyard (as opposed to the animals in a jungle) and raised by them. Gaiman has finished writing it and the release date is currently set for September 30, 2008 in the USA by HarperCollins.[2] The cover will be done by longtime Gaiman collaborator Dave McKean.
There will also be a limited edition of The Graveyard Book with a different McKean cover as well as interior illustrations by McKean produced by Subterranean Press. An audiobook is also planned.[3]
