The Gambit (born Anssi Lähteenoja in 1982 in Turku, Finland) is a rapper and record producer. He owns a record company, Queen Gambit Laboratoires, which produces rap and hip hop music for both English and Finnish rappers. Despite his origin, The Gambit speaks fluent english and has been influenced by the rappers living in Florida.
Although The Gambit has said to start his career in 1996, he went public in 2004 with a single called "Gravity Laws". The lyrics were written by him and the song was produced by a Finnish hip hop producer, DJ Staffro. In the summer of 2005, The Gambit published his own single through Edel record company, "Move Gambit / Cos My Clique Is", and was #9 on the Finnish single charts. A few months later, he published his first music video of the song "Cos My Clique Is". The Gambit published his debut album, Rosary, in November 2007. All 15 tracks on the album are produced by The Gambit except one. There are also a few visiting big names on the album, such as Psycho Les from The Beatnuts, guitarist Paul Bell and Finnish opera singer Marika Krook.
