The Fox in the Attic is a 1961 novel by Richard Hughes, who is best known for A High Wind in Jamaica. It was intended as the first part of an uncompleted trilogy.

It is set shortly after the First World War. It opens in a small town in Wales, where the central character is wrongly suspected of being responsible for the death of a young girl. He decides to get away from it all by travelling to Germany, and becomes involved in some political events, including Hitler's attempted putsch in Munich.
