The Charter School is a comprehensive mixed secondary school. The Charter School is situated near Herne Hill, South London and has an age range of 11-18. The school has been a specialist Business and Enterprise college since September 2005.
Founded as a result of a pressure group in 2000, the new school made use of the buildings formerly occupied by Dulwich High School For Boys, the school formerly known as William Penn.[citation needed]
The headteacher, Mr. Sheppard, took up this role following Mr Bowler's resignation.
The majority of students come from Dog Kennel Hill Junior School and Dulwich Hamlet Junior School.
