[edit] Plot summary

The world's greatest con men, the Brothers Bloom, have made a living off of swindling millionaires with complex scenarios of lust and intrigue. Stephen (Ruffalo) and Bloom (Brody), and their silent partner and sidekick Bang-Bang (Kikuchi) team up for one last job, conning beautiful heiress Penelope (Weisz) by taking her on a tour of the world and relieving her of $1.75 million. On the way, Bloom falls for Penelope, which complicates the con severely.

[edit] Production

The original script was titled "Penelope" after Weisz's character. The film's narration begins with a short poem:

As far as con man stories go, I must have heard them all.
Of ropers, grifters, faro fixers, tales drawn long and tall...
but if one bears a bookmark in the confidence man's tome
twould be that of Penelope, and of the Brothers Bloom."

—Rian Johnson[1]

Director Rian Johnson's cousin, musician Nathan Johnson, will be composing the score for the film as he did on Johnson's directorial debut, Brick (2005).

Starting in early May, Ain't It Cool News writer Quint has been providing set reports that detail the production of the film. The third and apparently final report was posted on May 25th.
