[edit] Premise

In mythical Scotland, Merida wants to be an archer. Through her actions, she unwittingly sets in motion a chain of events that involves magic and an ancient curse that affect her father's kingdom.

[edit] Voice cast

Also appearing in the film are a 15-foot tall bear and Merida's younger brothers (who are triplets).[2]

[edit] Background

The film, Pixar's first fairy tale, is a combination of director Brenda Chapman's love of Hans Christian Andersen and the Brothers Grimm, as well as a reflection on raising her daughter.[2]
