The Art Institute of Michigan – is one of The Art Institutes, a system of more than 40 educational institutions located throughout North America, providing education in design, media arts, fashion and culinary arts. The Art Institutes system is a subsidiary of Education Management Corporation, which is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Opened in 2007, The Art Institute of Michigan is a branch of The Illinois Institute of Art — Chicago [1]. Located at 28125 Cabot Drive in the Detroit suburb of Novi, Michigan, The Art Institute of Michigan is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools [2]. The Detroit Free Press reported that the school had 58 students enrolled as of February 2008, just four months after opening. [3].
