The center is located in the former Beaux Arts-style Carnegie Library. A $50,000 grant from Andrew Carnegie was provided for the building's construction. The building features a 35 foot high rotunda with a 40 foot stained glass domed ceiling and marble floors. The library moved to a new facility in 1987.
