[edit] "The Lions" Name

I'm interested to know where this name came from. Growing up, I've always known them (Englishly) as "The Sisters". The Skwxwu7mesh relates to the history of the mountains with the Indigenous peoples, and how the two mountains are two sisters. In Skwxwu7mesh language, they are Ch'ich'iyu'y Elxwi'kn. Information to be added, yes? I'll add this to the list of things to ask about from my elders and written/oral history on these mountains. OldManRivers 06:19, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] origin (maybe) of name

I remembered that Pauline Johnson was somehow involved, so I googled around. Voila:

Seems they resemble the Landseer Lions in Trafalgar Square. LDH 03:23, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
