Why did Valerie Harper get fired? She was a good actress. I'll admit I did see an episode from the Duncan era but not the Harper era. Was Harper good or bad? And I only saw part of the last episode of Rhoda.

ABC Family looks to have pulled The Hogan Family after only one week. Ratings must have been pretty bad.
- Confirmed... looking at tv.yahoo.com it's all been updated going back to the old schedule!
- From Pavan @ Sitcoms Online: "I got an official statement from ABC Family today and they told me to let you all know that they WILL bring the show back at a later date, rest assured. They confirmed that the ratings were not too good and they will try to find a better timeslot that will best suit the show."

I don't think The Hogan Family ended in 1991. I think that they ended or cancelled the show around the mid 1990s or so. King Shadeed 17:49, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Technically, it may have been cancelled in 1992, assuming it ran through the entire 1991-92 season. I do think the 1990-91 season was the last one. 71.111.216.239 19:36, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think so. I did see the 1993 copyright year on there followed by the 1990 logo of Lorimar Television with the byline (A Time Warner Entertainment Company). When the show was on PAX TV, I did see a later year with the gang playing football on the intro of the show. That means, the show was picked up by Warner Bros. Television. I'll find out the real year the show ended or cancelled King Shadeed 16:41, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
-Either you guys have never heard of GOOGLE (or any search engine), or have very shoddy memories. The series was cancelled at the end of the 1990-91 season. NBC had pulled the plug in 1990, but when it moved to CBS that fall the ratings did not improve. Also, I never remebered seeing a 1993 copyright date on the PAX reruns. The first paragraph in this section is overly long and somewhat incoherent, and doesn't even give the episode title. I'm planning on massively editing and reducing it, but thought I'd check in here first to see if someone with a better knowledge of the show than I have can make a better fist of it. - I've gone ahead and removed the entire section, as well as stripping back the discussion of very special episodes which followed -- none of these even had titles included, and without a broader discussion of the show's approach it's not clear whether these are radically different to the show's regular approach. I kept in the mention of episode which allegedly first used the word "condom", though this needs a citation. One consequence of this edit is that the second picture now sits rather awkwardly; I've left it in for the moment as someone may provide further cited text in the future.
