The Bugs Bunny Show was a good article nominee, but did not meet the good article criteria at the time. There are suggestions below for improving the article. Once these are addressed, the article can be renominated. Editors may also seek a reassessment of the decision if they believe there was a mistake.

[edit] Move

I propose a move because the show is technically called "The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show." If nobody opposes with a week then I will move it. Mr. C.C. 20:04, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cancelled?

How can the show have been cancelled if it hasn't been producing new episodes (or wraparounds) for years? When it went to the Cartoon Network, did that mean that is was resurrected? There's also a throwaway line at the bottom which states "According to the writers of this article, there are no plans to bring the show back." Unless theres a source, a person can't write "According to what I've heard, this show ain't going to see the light of day."

This show never aired on the Cartoon Network. The Cartoon Network and its sister station, Boomerang, have however aired the various Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons shown on this program, albeit in approximations their original theatrical formats. --FuriousFreddy 03:50, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Yes, Cancelled!

The show was cancelled because Time-Warner decreed that all Warner Bros. cartoons would thenceforth be seen only on Cartoon Network (quite possibly the condition on which Time-Warner acquired Ted Turner's empire in the first place). A show doesn't need to produce new episodes to be cancelled. All it has to do is be dropped by its network.

[edit] The Bugs and Daffy Show???

What about this one??? I know it existed. Is it listed somewhere else?? If not I could deffinitely add to the history of this article. --MJHankel 10:28, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

That was a Cartoon Network anthology of Looney Tunes cartoons. It should not be added ot this article, as it is not a direct continuation of this show, which aired only on broadcast TV, not cable. --FuriousFreddy 23:33, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Possible return to TV?

When I helped edit the article in 2006, I put "According to the writers of this article, there are no plans to bring the show back to television as of 2006". Have there been any other discussions amongst the WB execs to actually bring the show back in any way. Cartoon Network inexplicably pulled the Looney Tunes off the network in late 2003---why was that done? --- JS, 164.58.96.126 19:47, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

It was on Boomerang briefly earlier this year, but disappeared by June. WAVY 10 19:34, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Title Cards?

Should there be a gallery of title cards from the show's various brandings over the years? WAVY 10 Fan (talk) 15:59, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Great idea! Where can these images of title cards be found, though? — Cinemaniac (talk) 01:11, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
While it would be nice, such an idea is not really feasible given Wikipedia's now-stricter restraints on fair-use images. --FuriousFreddy (talk) 02:18, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] GA Review

GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria

This article is far from being ready to be GA, or even B. It has been reassessed to start. I strongly suggest applying both the TV and Wikipedia MOSs, fixing the bad referencing, and expanding it to include the major sections for a television series. I'd also recommend a peer review before renominating.

  1. Is it reasonably well written?
    A. Prose quality:
    B. MoS compliance:
Does not meet neither the TV MOS nor the main Wikipedia MOS requirements. Many instances of bad reference placement, choice of header titles, and other basic article problems. Poor layout and organization.
  2. Is it factually accurate and verifiable?
    A. References to sources:
    B. Citation of reliable sources where necessary:
    C. No original research:
This article is very badly referenced, with whole chunks of prose having no references at all. Of the few references included, most are from a site that fails WP:RS.
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. Major aspects:
No reception information, no production information, almost all basic TV MOS sections are missing.
    B. Focused:
  4. Is it neutral?
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. Is it stable?
    No edit wars, etc:
  6. Does it contain images to illustrate the topic?
    A. Images are copyright tagged, and non-free images have fair use rationales:
    B. Images are provided where possible and appropriate, with suitable captions:
  7. Overall:
    Pass or Fail:

You want production information for an anthology series? What, you need to know what sort of tape decks were used in editing? Not all articles will apply to a basic template from a WikiProject, and not all Wiki editors feel the need ot write crufty articles full of bullshit no one else will care about. Sometimes, directness make fucking sense. --FuriousFreddy (talk) 23:45, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Sorry to see that The Bugs Bunny Show didn't make good article, FuriousFreddy. I know sometimes it can be frustrating to spend much of your hard work and energy trying to improve something and still not accomplish your goal (in fact, it's been almost a month since I put Duck Soup up for nomination, and I still don't know yet if it's made it or not). Perhaps in the future, if you ever do come back out of retirement, I can help you in updating The Bugs Bunny Show to GA status. Regards, Cinemaniac (talkcontribscritique) 00:37, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
