[edit] Ajay, AJ or A.J.

Hmm. There seems to be a bit of a slow edit-war on this minor point. According to the Australian official site it is AJ. According to the end-credits it is apparently Ajay. User:210.49.237.17 mentions that she has written books under Ajay, but according to Amazon [1], these are actually under A.J. My best guess is that her initials are A.J., which she alternately writes AJ or Ajay. So neither are her real name, but the google test shows 12.000 to 30 in favour of AJ. Her website (http://www.healthybodyclub.com.au/) has her signature which reads "Amy Jay" or "Ami Jay". Peter (talk) 10:53, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kim Lyons

Hey guys lets add to kim lyons She has big shoes to fill, so lets at least build a great wikipedia page for her.Mrsmart 01:39, 12 September 2006 (UTC) I disagree with forwarding Kim Lyons automatically to the biggest loser. Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels have their own site. Also, she is a IFFB professional fitness competitor and engaged to Gunter Schleircamp, who finished 4th last year in the Mr. Olympia contest. What do you guys think?Mrsmart 06:53, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

Will she just be filling in for season 3, or is she the permanent replacement for Jillian. I ask because Jillian will be appearing with Bob on season 2 of the Australian version, which I believe was filmed after Kim Lyons season 3. - Matthew238 01:48, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
I did start a kym lyons article which has obviously been deleted since. Annoying that you go to the effort of writing up some articles and they just get removed. Peter 04:11, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Ausbloserlogo.jpg

Image:Ausbloserlogo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:05, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Criticism

The criticism part is just... weird, to put it nicely. First, it's quite POV-filled. "While the basic premise for the show is great" starts it off. Who deems it great? Besides that! It's confusing with run-on sentences and unsourced information. I'm tempted to just delete it, but if someone can fix it, go ahead. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Babylon pride (talkcontribs) 19:36, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] No muscle-building!?

From the Criticism section: "Contestants are asked to lose the highest percentage of body mass in order to win, rather than losing the most body fat. Because of this contestants aren't encouraged to perform any muscle building exercises as muscle is denser than fat, therefore with the same volume of each, muscle will weigh more. This means contestants would have the greatest chance of winning the series by starving themselves so as to lose both fat and muscle."

I watch the show a lot, and they certainly do muscle-building (resistance) exercises (weights, lunges, etc.). You need muscle to exercise efficiently and to keep your metabolism up (to burn calories), and the trainers know that. They don't try to bulk up, but they certainly do resistance exercises to keep their muscle tone. --Irrevenant [ talk ] 09:33, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] WHAT criticism section?

Apparently there was one, and it has been removed. It shouldn't have been. The weight loss techniques and goals on this show are more than a little controversial (virtually nobody in medicine thinks it's healthy to be losing 15 or twenty pounds in a week, for example.) And the "body-mass" versus "fat loss" argument is equally valid. They should be getting floated and graded on fat loss- shedding "pounds" is simply not healthy. Oh, yeah- there's also the fact that every time they do a "where are they now?" segment it turns out that the winners have gained back some weight. 216.194.21.170 (talk) 19:46, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
