[edit] Hempstead

Should it be mentioned that the Bellmores are sections of the town of Hempstead? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.149.193.49 (talk) 23:39, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Changes

Hey! Over the past month or so I've made many major edits and expanded the article very much. I have expanded the school section, created the table for the schools, added the library section, added the parks section, and added the fire department section If you see something wrong feel free to edit it (hence wikipedia says: don't put stuff it you don't want it to be mercifully edited). Also, if you feel something is wrong just tell me on my talk page, so we don't start and editing war. I hope you enjoy the page. If you look at the pages of surrounding towns such as Merrick, New York, you'll see Bellmore's page is much bigger. Hope to hear from you guys TeckWiz 00:14, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

Bigger isn't necessarily better. Wikipedia isn't a phone book, nor is it a travel guide. Including names and addresses of places with no serious significance isn't really the role of an encyclopedia. Xstryker 16:42, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merge With North Bellmore, New York

I am proposing that North Bellmore's article be merged with Bellmore's article. Until now I never knew a North Bellmore page existed, so when I added a lot to the Bellmore page, I included North Bellmore in it. I think we should merge everything and move the article to The Bellmores, New York, or something like that. In addition, since many people won't suspect a combined article we should make redirects on the Bellmore, New York page (this one), which will automatically be done after the page move, and make a redirect on the North Bellmore, New York page. Please vote below and write about one sentence to support your vote. In two weeks (6/27/2006 or 27/6/2006), I will merge and move the pages or keep them as they are depending on the consensus.TeckWizTalkContribsGuestbook 01:13, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Keep as Two Separate Articles

Combining Census Designated Place articles is wrong on so many levels. It breaks the demographics. Even the histories have separate articles. It appears this combining was done unilaterally. There's lots of locations in the NY area that have an east/west/central, etc. Those articles are kept separate. I will probably come back and break the articles up into their proper components. [edit] This is pointless.

Why is this in the beginning of the article? Not to mention they are not internally linked. If you want this to stay why not create a transportation section?

Major thoroughfares that wind through the suburb:

  • Sunrise Highway
  • Southern State Parkway
  • Merrick Road
  • Bellmore Avenue
  • Jerusalem Avenue
  • Newbridge Road
