[edit] FanFic expansion vs Show 'facts'

Two things in this:

  • The page has begun to exceed the page length suggested size
  • Most of the latest entries by I.P. only submitters have been comprised of information that was not provided within the limits of the show, leading to speculation vs facts. I'm wondering if a better idea in order to bridge that information with the show within the wiki would be to create a subset page, perhaps Galaxy Rangers Technical or the like. Also, it would be prudent to investigate the wiki's policy on fact vs fiction in regards to this area (if there is one). I'm thinking there might be something out there. Thanks Rabbi Bob 20:27, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
    • Found the following on the Simplified Ruleset page (#3): No original research. Articles may not contain any previously unpublished arguments, concepts, data, ideas, statements, or theories. Moreover, articles may not contain any new analysis or synthesis of: published arguments, concepts, data, ideas, or statements — that serves to advance a position.. In reading that, I remove the remark to create a subset page as that information would violate the rule. Hopefully the entries that were created can be reviewed and edited for content. [edit] Merge

  • I vote for merging Galaxy Rangers into this article, making the information from that article the core of this page due to being much better written. Then a redirect can be put on that page to this one due to this page having the correct title, yet people being more likely to search for Galaxy Rangers. Nezu Chiza 01:09, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
  • I second that vote. R.G. 10:55,7 December 2005 (UTC)

  • I agree the articles should be merged since it was I who started the articles in tbe first place. User:Dwanyewest 16:56,12 December 2005 (UTC)
  • I also suggest to merge Galaxy Rangers into this article, since "The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers" is the correct title of the show.

[edit] When are the articles gonna be merged?

Since I founded this article I am proud of how many times its been updated so far? I think that the names should be merged its about time? User:Dwanyewest

I changed the reference to only one DVD being available, because in the links provided at the bottom of the page you can order four different DVDs with four episodes of the series each. Dogson.

[edit] Beta Mountain.org

I am unsure of the status of the post 2002 version of Betamountain.org, however I am the creator and holder of the content from the original site. I'm curious what the opinions are to merging that information into the Wiki? Rabbi Bob 10:11, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Theme Song Lyrics Removed Per Copyright

Although Wikipedia is a non-profit organization, these are limits to which certain information is allowed. Although Fair Use policies allow the quoting of material such as lyrics without violating copyright, these policies have limits. These limits include the straight copy-publishing of entire scripts, poems, or songs for reading without the permission of the author (though exceptions apply, of course). As such, I have removed the section of this article containing the theme songs. -- CobraWiki 21:23, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Galaxy-Rangers-Logo.jpg

Image:Galaxy-Rangers-Logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Hearst Entertainment?

It says that Koch owns the rights to the show. However, Hearst Entertainment has a page for it. Can anybody clarify who owns what? BCI had to license Filmation's Flash Gordon series from Hearst in order to release it. Is that the same case here, or does Hearst only own the TV distribution rights with Koch owning the IP (and thus all int'l media rights)? It's clear that when ITF Enterprises (the show's original distributor) went out of business, somebody picked up the show for distribution of some kind. Again, can anyone clarify what's going on here?
