A can of Buzz Cola, an officially licensed product of Twentieth Century Fox. Buzz Cola is one of the many products in The Simpsons which spoof real-life products. Buzz Cola was sold in 7-Eleven stores as a promotion for The Simpsons Movie.

Jack Lemmon portrayed character Frank Ormond in the eighth season episode "The Twisted World of Marge Simpson". Marge joins a "Pretzel Wagon" franchise owned by Frank Ormond, and competes with a "Fleet-A-Pita" franchise.

James L. Brooks has a cameo role in the fourteenth season episode, "A Star Is Born-Again". Brooks started his own production company Gracie Films in 1984, which produced The Tracey Ullman Show and The Simpsons.

Actor Leonard Nimoy portrayed himself in two episodes of The Simpsons. In the fourth season episode, "Marge vs. the Monorail", he is seen viewing the maiden voyage of the Springfield monorail.
