Batman: The Ride (formerly known as is as Batman - The Dark Knight) is a steel floorless roller coaster located at Six Flags New England. Opened in 2002, the ride has a purple and blue track with black supports. It was the eighth coaster built at the park, and only roller coaster in New England built by Bolliger & Mabillard.
[edit] Layout
The layout is compact but packed with five inversions. The steep drop twists 180 degrees to the left and sends riders into a vertical loop. The loop is followed by a dive loop, and then there is a left 180 degree turn that passes through the first loop. The turn is followed by an on-ride photo, then a zero-g-roll that makes riders momentarily feel no gravitational pull. The final two elements are interlocking corkscrews that send riders into the brake run.
[edit] Name change
Batman - The Dark Knight was renamed Batman:The Ride due to the new The Dark Knight Coaster planned for 2008 (now canceled).
