Temnozor (Russian: Темнозорь) is a band formed in 1996 in Obninsk, Russia, to express the pride of its members being Slavic. Temnozor started out as a raw black metal band with folk influences, but folk music has increasingly played a part in their music throughout their later albums. They are now considered a prime example of National Socialist (NS) folk metal. Their lyrics tend towards ancient Russian folklore, paganism, and dislike towards monotheistic traditions. They are part of the Blazebirth Hall circle along with Forest, Branikald, Nitberg, Rundagor, Raven Dark, Vargleide, Woods of Fallen and Wotansjov.
They have played live several times over the years, most recently at the Frey Faxi Festival in 2007 with Absurd (German NSBM).
