CSS coding

Hey, glad to see you came right with customising that wiki. However it seems to me that a lot of it is do-able through the root-admin's settings. In other words, if you had access to the actual files on the server, you could in theory edit the php part that says "From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia" and change it to something else, or remove it entirely. Of course, you might have to clear this with the other stakeholders on the wiki, and make sure you do some tests first. You can also post on the MediaWiki wiki (or is it the Wikimedia wiki, I get confused), that's where you download the Wikimedia software, they have technical guys that should be able to tell you more.
