Talk:Tarsus (skeleton)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
My health teacher says that a tarsus is a heel bone but i thought it was a calcaneus. Is she right or am I?
sincerely,
Concerned student
The tarsus is the collective name given to the 7 bones 'below the leg and before the toes', these seven bones include the calcaneus. The calcaneus itself is, indeed, the bone that will comprise the bone section of the heel. The difference between the two is that the tarsus includes the bone section of the heel where as the Calcaneus IS the bone section of the heel. You're right.
