"Take Me Away" is a song written by Avril Lavigne and Evan Taubenfeld, and was a single released from Lavigne's second album, Under My Skin. It started circulation on Canadian rock radio in March 2004 (see 2004 in music) at around the same time that promotion began for "Don't Tell Me",[1] the internationally released lead single from Under My Skin. "Take Me Away" was featured as a B-side on some editions of the "Don't Tell Me" single, and it was released to radio only as the album's fifth single in Australia in 2005 (see 2005 in music).[citation needed] No music video for the single was released.

Lavigne recorded another song titled "Take Me Away", according to the ASCAP. The other song, written by Lavigne and The Matrix, is completely different from the Under My Skin track: it is a happier song, is longer (at 3:29) and is older (it was recorded in 2002).[citation needed] It was meant to be on Lavigne's first album, Let Go, but didn't make the final track listing.[citation needed]
