T. V. Padma

Padma Venkatraman, also known as T. V. Padma (born 1969) is a children's author from India.

She was born in Chennai, a city in the south of India and completed her schooling and her undergraduate studies there. She moved to the United States to pursue her studies further. She obtained her doctrate degree in Oceanography at The College of William and Mary and is currently Director of Graduate Diversity Affairs at the University of Rhode Island. She loves writing for children and her stories combine her knowledge of Science and Mathematics with her passion for literature and writing.

Her books are:

  • Amazing Animal Series
  • The Forbidden Temple, A work of historical fiction set in ancient India.
  • Climbing the Stairs, recently published by Penguin-Putnam.
  • Mathematwist- Number Tales from Around the World a book of mathematical stories.

Other forthcoming books include The Albertosaurus Mystery: Philip Currie's Hunt in the Badlands and Caroline Herschel.
