Sydenham, Warwickshire

Sydenham is a mainly residential suburb located in the southeast of Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.[1] The residential areas consist predominantly of Council houses, and there are several light industrial/business units in Sydenham Industrial Park. It has several schools, a doctors surgery, a large Asda supermarket, a small sports centre, and several pubs.[citation needed]

The suburb was developed almost entirely in the middle of the twentieth century. Before that the area was farmland with a few isolated farm buildings on it.[citation needed]

The Grand Union Canal (formally the Warwick and Napton Canal) runs west-east in the north of the area, and the Radford Road (A425) runs west-east just north of the canal. The River Leam meanders through Newbold Comyn Park just north of Sydenham. The Chiltern Main Line, an inter-city and commuter railway, runs approximately north-south through the west of the area, and the nearest station is the Leamington Spa railway station in Leamington town centre.[1]

Campion School and Community College, is situated in the south of Sydenham.[1][2] There are also several primary schools in Sydenham.
