Superstition is an album by Siouxsie & the Banshees, released in 1991. The first single, "Kiss Them for Me," gave the band its first top-forty Billboard Hot 100 hit in the United States, peaking at number twenty-three.
The album was produced by Stephen Hague, known for working with New Order and Pet Shop Boys among many others. Hague used techniques that Siouxsie did not approve of later, such as computer-based production that included the raising of her vocal pitch ("Kiss Them For Me") and the assembly of individual syllables recorded one at a time into a single vocal track. She expressed frustration with the mix, saying the music sounds like it's coming from an AM radio. In contrast, the vocals of the B-sides from the album's singles, produced by a different man, are less polished (most noticeably on the track "Return"), although the tracks possess a sound similar to that of the album.
