Sulpicius is also an ancient Roman nomen. Sulpicius is also the name of a saint, Sulpicius II. of Bourges (French: Saint Sulpice II. de Bourges). The church of Saint-Sulpice, built in 1648 is one of the landmarks of Paris; in the district of St Germain des Pres, it contains one of the largest classical organs in Europe, and is featured on many recordings. A church dedicated to Saint Sulpice also names a district of Montreal.
