Suliban = Taliban?

The general persecution of many Suliban due to the actions of a few (the Cabal) seems to me a stark echo of the hate crimes against Muslims due to the actions of a few (Taliban, Al Qaeda, etc.) As I recall, Enterprise premiered a few months after the 9/11 attacks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 207.224.76.117 (talk • contribs) 11:35, 13 April 2006 (UTC-8)

I remember reading an interview with Rick Berman that the choice of name Suliban actually was partially inspired by the Taliban, before 9/11 and the invasion. I'll see if I can dig up the magazine I read it in and add it to the article. Antony-22 15:18, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
Persecution and hate crimes? Not exactly widespread. Heck, even the wars are tiny compared to the world population of Muslims. I would say its more of an Italy thing, yeah we're going along with the Nazis but... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Zotel (talkcontribs) 20:41, 24 November 2006 (UTC-8)
