This person's California English sucks. They're probably from the East Coast.

Antony-22's status: OUT

I'm a graduate student in chemistry with a research interest in nanotechnology. I've been editing Wikipedia for just over a year now and was reading it for about two years before that.

I generally spend my time improving article flow, both between and within articles. This usually means I'm concerned with the structure of existing articles (especially the organization and flow of sections), as well as things like categories and wikilinks. I'm very big on navboxes and have created a whole suite of them to improve the article flow among the sprawling family nanotech articles. I am also known to add information and even create an occasional new article, if it is relevant.

My editing tends to come in waves: I occasionally make >200 edits in a single month, and I have had months in between where my edit count has been in the single digits. Most of my work is related to the Nanotechnology articles, though I have also been involved with the Long Island and Caltech-related articles.

My edits have mostly fallen into one of three categories:

  • Nanotechnology: this includes an overhaul of the main article, improving article flow between other articles using wikilinks and navboxes, and adding or expanding a few articles.
  • House System at Caltech: I reorganized the main article after it was created through the merge of several Hopuse-specific articles, and uploaded some pictures.
  • Long Island: since the main article was too long, I split it into subarticles and created a navbox to link them together. I also had created a few articles about roads in Nassau County.

[edit] Navboxes

See /Navboxes.

I have made a number of navboxes, mainly for the various subfields of nanotechnology, to improve article flow and attract more edits to these articles. A complete listing can be found at the link above.

[edit] What I'm doing now

I am currently in a slow period for my Wikipedia editing, mainly loggin in every now and then to chck my watchlist and make minor edits. I am getting involved in the Long Island WikiProject, and am also going to get around to adding some new articles eventually.

Articles to create:

  • Caltech-MIT rivalry
  • Drexler-Smalley debate on molecular nanotechnology

I have created or overhauled a good number of articles; the above link contains a list of the articles I have worked extensively on, as well as a gallery of the images I have uploaded.
