This article only discusses the clinician's meaning of "sudden death" ie. sudden cardiac death only. When a layman means "sudden death" in a medical sense, though, he may not be referring to a cardiac event. As a writer, I first checked this page because I was looking for a non-cardiac form of sudden death to use in a story.

Can we come up with a consensus for adding a (sourced) list of other forms of sudden death, such as ruptured berry aneurysm, stroke, heart attack, anaphylactic shock, etc.? Dr. Ed Friedlander, a board-certified pathologist who has an extensive website as the "Pathology Guy", has a list of (IIRC) 15 natural causes of sudden death (meaning death within an hour). --Charlene 06:53, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
