Sudanese Arabs
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sudanese Arabs are an ethnic group of Afro-Arab origin. They are believed to be the largest group living in Northern and Central Sudan, with a population currently numbering over 16,000,000. For centuries, many Arab tribes of Sudan had intermarried and gradually mixed with the indigenous black people who had already been living there. Thus, the Sudanese Arabs do look African in appearance while retaining their original Arab heritage. Sudanese Arabic is their own official language.
