Still not a good title: among well-known String Quartets in D: Beethoven String Quartet No 3 in D major Op 18/3; Borodin String Quartet No 2 in D major (1885); several by Haydn, String Quartet in D major Op 33/6, in D major Op 64/5 "The Lark" and in D major Op 76/5; Roussel String Quartet in D major Op 45; Tachaikovsky String Quartet No 1 in D major Op 11.... --Wetman 11:45, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Franck’s, Mendelssohn’s (op.44#1), Mozart’s next quartet after this one ;), d’Indy first (well, that’s more in d minor despite title), some of Schubert’s earlier ones (ok, not so well‐known there.) Schissel 11:51, Dec 11, 2004 (UTC)

There are reasons why the K # and number 20 were both excluded from the title of this page, the varying Köchel catalog and numbering of the Mozart quartets high among them; though String Quartet in D major was I can only agree a much, much worse title (vas, no - see list above, then add a list going out well, well into the distance of quartets — of varying quality, of course — in that key, into the distance. That's one reason why I felt something like Violin sonata in A major (Mozart, 1786) or (1786) (not quite as good) was at least ok for KV 526... that, and I just do not like including op., K, BWV, ... #s in page titles, aesthetically. Best not to change it again, though- too many redirects is a bad thing too. (One reason to go back to pages that referred to String Quartet in D major and change those refs. to this new page, for instance ;) ) Grump grump gripey me, and really (speaking only for myself of course) I thank you for clarifying matters.
